Pomodoro
A Pomodoro timer for focused reading: big countdown, breaks, round dots, minutes left in the status line.
Work in focused rounds and rest in between. Pomodoro shows a large countdown with a progress bar and dots for the rounds of the set. The timer keeps running while you read or the reader sleeps, and survives a restart: a round carries on by the clock, or moves on if its time ran out. A notice tells you when a round or break is over. The clock updates once a minute to save battery; an option keeps the screen awake during a round (off by default). After the set it suggests a long break. Lengths and the number of rounds are set in the settings; the next phase can start by itself. The minutes left can show in the status lines. Works with buttons and touch.
How it works
A Pomodoro timer: work in focused rounds, then rest.
Open it from the tools menu. Start begins the round; the timer keeps running when you leave the screen or the reader sleeps, and a notice tells you when the time is up. While it runs, the minutes left show in status lines. To save battery the screen redraws only once a minute (every ten seconds in the last minute) and never keeps the reader awake. Lengths and the number of rounds before the long break are set under Pomodoro in the settings.
Screenshots
A plugin with code runs with full access to the reader. It can read everything on it, your passwords and other secrets included, and use the network. A faulty one can crash the reader; a hostile one can damage it for good. Install it only if you trust who made it, as you would a program on a computer.
Builds
It is built for the Xteink X4, Xteink X4 Pro and Xteink X4 Classic, made for PaperPaw 0.5. A build runs on every PaperPaw of the same plugin interface. When a release raises the interface, a reader on that release waits until the author makes a new build.
On an Xteink X4 the code of all plugins you have turned on shares limited room, about 600 KB if PaperPaw came by an update from CrossPoint. If the reader says there is not enough room, a full flash with the flasher leaves about four times as much: see the help there. Few plugins with code fit on my X4
Its code, open to read
The store shows the source of every plugin with code and keeps a copy, and rebuilds each build from that source with the compiler its fingerprint names, to compare. The file served is always the one its author signed.
