Reading goal

How it works

A cat on your home screen shows how today's reading goes: sad while you have not read yet, so-so after a little, content from half of your daily goal, happy once you have reached it.

Add the widget Reading cat to the home screen (hold the home screen, then add a widget), or choose Today's reading cat as the sleep screen. A tap on the cat opens the daily goal; it is the goal of the reading statistics, which count the minutes you read.

In the settings, under Reading, Content from and Happy from set from which share of the goal the cat is content or happy, and Own pictures a folder of pictures (sad, meh, content and happy) to show instead of the cats. The pictures are PNG or JPEG files; with no folder, the cats show.

A plugin with code runs with full access to the reader. It can read everything on it, your passwords and other secrets included, and use the network. A faulty one can crash the reader; a hostile one can damage it for good. Install it only if you trust who made it, as you would a program on a computer.

Builds

It is built for the Xteink X4, Xteink X4 Pro and Xteink X4 Classic, made for PaperPaw 0.5. A build runs on every PaperPaw of the same plugin interface. When a release raises the interface, a reader on that release waits until the author makes a new build.

Its code, open to read

The store shows the source of every plugin with code and keeps a copy, and rebuilds each build from that source with the compiler its fingerprint names, to compare. The file served is always the one its author signed.
